Project activities
Activity 1- To provide the beer promotion girls and women with life skills through skills training. This activity has been done by teaching the trainees clothes-making (sewing, measuring, cutting) and beauty (hair dressing, hair cutting, hair curling, manicure and cosmetology) skills. The sewing and beauty skills training courses are opened which 80 beer promotion girls and women have attended. Three trainers are responsible for training and monthly report preparation. The executive director is responsible for monitoring, evaluating the vocational training activities and prepare the progress and final reports. Each course lasts six months. The trainees are trained in making both ancient and modern modes of clothes and in the skills of hair dressing, hair cutting, hair curling, manicure and cosmetology. The classes are equipped with a lot of sewing and beauty skills training materials and 20 swing machines. During the courses, the trainees are instructed how to start up their own business and given certificates. Two sessions are taught per week that focus on (1) small business awareness, (2) marketing strategies, (3) small business starting, (4) creation of new venture, (5) public relation, and (6) business management. Upon completion of each course, the business starts with cooperation between KAD staff management team and the beneficiaries. The project management team follows up the business activities of the beneficiaries. The sewing products are donated to vulnerable people.
Activity 2- To educate sewing and beauty trainees and other the beer promotion girls and women on women rights, women related laws, domestic violence, trafficking in women for exploitation, marriage and family and international convention on elimination of the forms of discrimination against women. Once a week, there is a two-hour educational session, every Saturday, which 80 sewing and beauty trainees and 50 other beer promotion girls and women are invited to attend. Four sessions are held per month.Throughout the year, 2,400 beer promotion girls and women are expected to attend the educational sessions. Two legal staff are responsible for organizing educational sessions. They all graduated from law school and have been experienced in legal and human rights education for a long time. Legal documents, educational materials, posters, leaflets and banners are used and distributed to participants. These activities are monitored and evaluated by the established evaluation team. Executive director is responsible for preparing the reports.
