The project has been initiated in order to enable the disadvantaged children and adolescents living in Trapaing Kong, Samraong Tong and Vor Sar communes to improve access to education and health care services by providing them with kindergarten, primary school level, computer literacy, English teaching and with basic dental and medical services and with basic health education including seasonal diseases, mothers’ and children’s health care, sanitation, hygiene and nutrition and to raise awareness and understanding of the rights of the child among local children and people through education on the rights of the child and advocate with the relevant institutions so that they will meet the needs and solve the problems of the children and adolescents. The project goal is to achieve a measurable and sustainable improvement in the health, education and livelihoods of community vulnerable children. The project activities are to 1) provide the 4-5 year-old children with kindergarten teaching, 2) to provide the 1-13 year-old children with health care, 3) to provide both children and adults with health education, 4) to provide the project implementers such as teachers, trainers and health/children’s rights educators with further capacity building, 5) to provide the children aged 6-22 years with after school extra classes teaching them Khmer literature, mathematics, civics, English and computer skills and organize the meetings with the community people on the values of education and 6) to promote and protect the rights of the children through education, campaign and advocacy.
