Ay Risa is female, 6 years old, living with her parents and a 12 year-old elder brother in Tuol Samnang, Vor Sar commune, Samraong Tong district, Kampong Speu province. Risa has suffered from chronic convulsion for one and a half year because she fell down and banged her head against the stone. When it acts up, it makes her lie down unconsciously with her eyes upended, hands and legs stiffened until half or one hour later she regains consciousness. Risa is a corrigible, courteous and friendly girl. She respects the parents, the teachers and other old people and loves her classmates and friends. Nowadays, she learns at the kindergarten level A and her study result is fair. In the class, she always pays attention to her education, but she is forgettable and has a lot of difficulty committing something to memory. Risa is a girl who likes learning. She has enough school materials and manages them very well. Her parents also attend to her study. When having a free time, especially upon their return from work at night time they help teach the daughter, check her homework and urge her to complete it before going to bed. At home in her free time, Risa helps her mother wash the clothes, make the bed, fold the clothes, do the washing-up and feed chicken and ducks. At school, she helps clean the class, collect the rubbish and arrange the tables. She is very happy to have a chance to learn at KAD center and to have many friends. In the center for the kindergarten classes, the children are taught basic Khmer literature, basic English language, mathematics and morality. In addition, the children are inculcated with a good habit of environmental protection, sanitary and hygienic maintenance. Risa said that she would try hard to learn and purposes to be a doctor to treat the sick people, her parents and relatives. She added that she wanted to be a doctor because she wanted to earn much money to help support her family and she didn’t want her parents to have difficulty making money to feed the family members any more. In order to accomplish her goal, she would make a great effort to study and listen to the parents and teachers.
Risa’s father is Uch Borey, 40 years old, a farmer. Her mother is Mom Soriya, 38 years old, a boiled corn seller. The couple has two children in their family. They perform their own work, but however they are still busy with it that is not different from the garment factory job. Normally they start to work at 7:00 A.M. and stop it at 11:00 A.M. in the morning and in the afternoon they start again at 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M, so they have enough time to take good care of their children, for example, they can cook enough food, prepare the children for school, supply them with proper school materials and uniforms, send them to the general practitioners when they fall sick, help teach the children or urge them to do the self-learning when they stay home. Their living standard is medium. They own a house and enough transport means. However this family has gotten a loan from a private microcredit institution to cure the disease of their sick daughter that has brought about the problem with their living. In the future, the couple wants their children to have high education and get a good job so that they can get well-paid.
